Why
do I need a handicap?
There are two main reasons.
The golf handicap system is an integral part of the
amateur game allowing golfers of differing standards to
compete against each other on equal terms. Having a
handicap enables you to take part in competitions and
adds a lot more fun, purpose and enjoyment to your golf.
The second reason is
that the majority of golf clubs worldwide insist on
seeing your handicap certificate before you are allowed
to play the course as a visitor. In most cases if you
can't show a recognised handicap certificate you won't
be allowed to play.
Why
do I need a FORE Society Handicap?
If you are not a current member of a golf club how
can you obtain a recognised handicap?
Since June 1997 we have issued over 5300 new handicaps
and every day we receive a bundle of scorecards from
new members wanting to obtain a handicap and existing
members seeking to have their handicap reviewed. The
FORE Society handicap is accepted at clubs
throughout the UK and worldwide as proof of your playing
ability thus enabling you to play their course and it will
also enable you to play in events on
The FORE Tour. |
